The Celebrate Markham Grant Program gives funding to not-for-profit organizations in Markham.  Review the eligibility criteria below as each category has different



You can apply for the following grants:
Cultural Events and Programs: $5,000
Major Community Festivals: $10,000
Seniors’ Clubs: $3,000


Applications for the 2024-2025 funding cycle for Cultural Events, Major Community Events and Seniors Clubs : apply between October 2, 2023 at noon to November 2, 2023 by 1 PM.

Notice of Completion: Warden Avenue Environmental Assessment Study


The purpose of this notice is to advise local area residents, stakeholders and business owners that York Region has prepared an Environmental Study Report (ESR) documenting the study process, consultation efforts and the recommended plan. This Notice of Completion places the ESR on the public record for a 30-day review period, beginning Friday, October 13, 2023. 


The ESR will be available for review and download at york.ca/WardenKennedyStudy beginning Friday, October 13, 2023.

We are excited to introduce this special pilot program that will create short-term locations for off-leash dog areas where dogs can play, exercise, and socialize. The first priority is that these Pop-Up Dog Parks are safe for all users.

As the Chairman of Markham’s Culture & Economic Development Committee, I am so glad to represent Markham to attend the Economic Development Conference in Summerside, PEI hosted by the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC).
Attended EDAC conference in PEI.
Reconciling Indigenous Labour Market Intelligence: Data for Strategic Planning and Partnerships.
Glad to have further discussion with Liz Stone, Indigenous Knowledge Leader and Acting Academic Chair of Indigenous Perspectives, Fleming College, who urged the Canadians to take action to help the indigenous communities.
Attended the 29th Community-Based Policing Dinner.
Speeding is an ongoing issue I have been working hard to tackle, and I continue to partner with York Regional Police (YRP) to deter this behaviour.
