An active weather system has produced light to moderate snowfall. Plows deployed this morning to plow & apply winter material to Primary and Secondary roads and the Cycle Tracks. Local roads and sidewalks continue to be monitored. Track our plows at http://markham.ca/winter

Due to the increasing break-and-enter incidents, car thefts, and carjacking cases recently, Regional Councillor Alan Ho requested the York Regional Police to update the installation of cameras at major intersections to monitor and record the passing of cars for further investigations should there be crime take place at the York Regional meeting held on December 7.
The York Regional Police Chief has agreed to initiate a pilot program and will discuss with the Privacy Commissioner to address the privacy issue.
