Due to the increasing break-and-enter incidents, car thefts, and carjacking cases recently, Regional Councillor Alan Ho requested the York Regional Police to update the installation of cameras at major intersections to monitor and record the passing of cars for further investigations should there be crime take place at the York Regional meeting held on December 7.

 

The York Regional Police Chief has agreed to initiate a pilot program and will discuss with the Privacy Commissioner to address the privacy issue.

What more damage might this drunk driver have caused had he not crossed paths with a YRP officer? He was one of 1,350 drivers we charged with impaired driving in 2023. One is one too many.

York Region has completed a municipal class Environmental Assessment Study for improvements to Kennedy Road from Major Mackenzie Drive to Elgin Mills Road in the City of Markham. 

 

The ESR will be available for review and download at york.ca/WardenKennedyStudy beginning Thursday, December 14, 2023 for a 45-day review period. 

 

LURING CHARGES LAID AGAINST MARKHAM MAN.
 
Members of the YRP Human Trafficking Unit have charged Vytas VELYVIS, 54, with luring a 16-year-old girl and are appealing to other victims who have not yet come forward to contact police.
