Skating season is here!
The following outdoor rinks are now open throughout the City of Markham for residents to enjoy:
- Huntington Park
- Milliken Mills Park
- Victoria Square Park
- Markham Civic Centre
- Markham Museum
Please note: Milne Dam Park is not yet open due to ice conditions.
The Markham Museum location will be closing at 3 PM the following days.
February 8 to 11, 14 to 19, and 22 to 25.
Remember to always check the status of your local ice rink before heading out for a skate!

Due to the increasing break-and-enter incidents, car thefts, and carjacking cases recently, Regional Councillor Alan Ho requested the York Regional Police to update the installation of cameras at major intersections to monitor and record the passing of cars for further investigations should there be crime take place at the York Regional meeting held on December 7.
The York Regional Police Chief has agreed to initiate a pilot program and will discuss with the Privacy Commissioner to address the privacy issue.

Li et le Nouvel An spectalunaire!" (Li and the Spectalunar New Year) is an inclusive story about a little girl from Markham who celebrates the Lunar New Year with her family, friends, and community.
Written by a French Immersion teacher, the book contains fun activities to engage French learners and celebrates Chinese Canadian heritage and the Lunar New Year.
