York Regional Council:
Live streaming of the public session of Council and Committee of the Whole meetings is available on the day of the meeting from 9 a.m. until the close of the meeting. Past sessions are also available at york.ca/councilandcommittee

Important notice:

It has come to our attention that some homeowners in Markham have been experiencing scam calls from individuals posing as City employees requesting an inspection and installation of flooding protection measures for compliance issues (e.g., sump pumps and backwater valves).

The City of Markham does not contact residents by phone to request installation of flooding protection measures, as there is no mandatory compliance requirement related to the Private Plumbing Protection Rebate Program. We advise residents to be vigilant and use caution.

If you experience any of these scam phone calls, please report it to plumbingrebate@markham.ca

-City of Markham News-
A significant snowfall warning is in effect for our City. Snow is expected beginning this morning & intensifying into the evening. Changing weather & deteriorating conditions can lead to dangerous driving. Remember to drive slowly & use caution.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather advisory for our City. Heavy local snowfalls and reduced visibility can be expected to begin Friday morning.

Snow clearing starts with the largest & busiest roads (called arterial or primary roads), followed by secondary roads that serve schools, community centres, industrial & commercial areas, and then local roads & lanes in residential areas.

Learn more at: http://markham.ca/Winter

Until April 15, please don’t park on the street when snow clearing operations are in effect. Plows need room to get by and can’t properly clear roads if cars are in the way, which may also result in them being plowed in.

Keeping blue box material below the rim will help prevent wind-blown litter around your neighbourhood.

For more windy day tips, visit: http://markham.ca/Recycling
