How to Register Online for Compost Giveaway – Starting April 22
- Create an account in Markham’s Program Registration and Facility Booking system at markham.ca/RegisterNow
- On this site, you’ll find step-by-step instructions on how to create an account and access to the new system
- Log into the system with your email and password
- Go to the Programs & Activities tab and select Special Events;
- Choose a pickup date and location. Spaces are limited and distributed on a first come, first serve basis; no payment required
- Once you have registered, you will receive a Booking Confirmation email with Registration Confirmation attached. You will need this email when picking up the compost
- If you miss your registration pickup date, you must register again for another date, subject to availability
What You Need to Know Before You Go
- Must register prior to arrival – maximum one (1) registration per household
- Bring proof of registration with you for pickup
- Two (2) bags ONLY per registration, while supplies last
- Compost is available for Markham residents only – not for commercial use
- Pickup events are rain or shine

Route 8 – Kennedy will be extended to provide new service along Steeles Avenue between Old Kennedy Road and Kennedy Road. Trips are not scheduled to connect with GO trains at Milliken GO station.
Weekdays:
Frequency will be adjusted as follows:
Midday – approximately every 28 minutes
Evening – approximately every 25 minutes
First and last trips will be adjusted.
