As per the resident's suggestion and my office's request, York Region staff conducted a northbound left turn traffic study at Woodbine Avenue and Markland Street / Calvert Road during the peak period. As a result of the study, new northbound and southbound advance left turn signals are recommended to be installed to improve the signal operations at this intersection.
If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding traffic light on regional roads, please contact my office: alan.ho@markham.ca |

Markham, we’re better than this! This is not what we want to see in our parks. Recent vandalism at Highgate Park resulted in this broken basketball net.
Let’s all respect our public spaces and equipment so everyone can enjoy them. You wouldn’t do this at home, so don’t do this in our parks.
If you see something, say something by reporting it to York Regional Police.

Markham Scholarship From Friendship, Music, and Cancer
The Kevin Doherty Scholarship will award one student pursuing digital creativity in either arts, design, development, or marketing with a one-time award of $1,500 towards their academic post-secondary studies. More information on the scholarship and application can be found here: https://nvision.co/the-kevin-doherty-scholarship-to-support-digital-creativity/
This scholarship was born from a 35-year-long Markham friendship of two entrepreneurs who met in high school. Kevin Doherty & George Arabian felt compelled to create this annual scholarship for creative youth in Markham to honour his lifelong friend. The scholarship has been awarded yearly since it was founded in 2020.
