Markham Scholarship From Friendship, Music, and Cancer (Deadline June 23)

The Kevin Doherty Scholarship will award one student pursuing digital creativity in either arts, design, development, or marketing with a one-time award of $1,500 towards their academic post-secondary studies. More information on the scholarship and application can be found here: https://nvision.co/the-kevin-doherty-scholarship-to-support-digital-creativity/

This scholarship was born from a 35-year-long Markham friendship of two entrepreneurs who met in high school. Kevin Doherty & George Arabian felt compelled to create this annual scholarship for creative youth in Markham to honour his lifelong friend. The scholarship has been awarded yearly since it was founded in 2020.

The annual Terry Fox Run has become a classic Canadian tradition every fall with more than 650 diverse communities across the country coming together to fundraise for cancer research.

Register and join on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the Old Unionville Library Community Centre (15 Library Lane, Unionville) to honour Terry Fox and his legacy for cancer research.

The Terry Fox Run has a rich history in Markham-Unionville starting in 1982 with 100 participants. Over the years, the Markham Unionville participants have raised over $1.5 million dollars for the Marathon of Hope.  Last year raised over $80,000!
