In celebration of Canada Day, City of Markham residents do not require a permit to set off fireworks on their private property on the day before Canada Day and Canada Day. Fireworks are not allowed on City property.

The City of Markham is rolling out its Park and Play Fun Tour this summer!
The Park and Play Fun Tour is a free summer program for children between the ages of four and 12 that travels to community parks across the city.
The program offers a wide range of fun and engaging activities, including giant board games, mini sports, inflatable ride-on animals and much more.
As a special treat, we’ll also have an ice cream truck too.
So, grab your sunscreen and water bottle, and join us for some outdoor play.

The annual Terry Fox Run has become a classic Canadian tradition every fall with more than 650 diverse communities across the country coming together to fundraise for cancer research.
The Terry Fox Run has a rich history in Markham-Unionville starting in 1982 with 100 participants. Over the years, the Markham Unionville participants have raised over $1.5 million dollars for the Marathon of Hope. Last year raised over $80,000! |
