We’re excited to welcome you back to celebrate 48 years of festive tradition with the Markham Santa Claus Parade, in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Markham. Featuring Grand Marshal Joe Bowen.
The City of Markham is happy to support community events and programs through our Celebrate Markham Grant Program.  

You can apply for the following grants:

Cultural Events and Programs: $5,000
Major Community Festivals: $10,000
Seniors’ Clubs: $3,000
Applications for the 2023-2024 funding cycle for Cultural Events, Major Community Events and Seniors Clubs: apply between October 20, 2022, to November 21, 2022.
 
Milliken Mills Library is officially re-opened! The Milliken Mills Library renovation project has optimized the library's workflow and efficiency, bringing it up to system standards. It has also enhanced the library's aesthetics, improving the overall customer experience for everyone. 
 
Enhancements Include:
  • Redesigned sorter room featuring a new, state-of-the-art automated sortation system; this feature will greatly improve efficiency, providing a quicker return-to-shelf time and getting library material into the hands of customers faster.
  • Redesigned accessible entry featuring new washrooms (3 universal and 1 accessible washroom), greatly improving the overall aesthetics and accessibility of the branch.
  • Self-Service Material Return Unit for added customer convenience; customers will automatically be issued a receipt for their returned items which means no more waiting in line at the desk! 
  • Manual drop box for easy 24/7 returns.
