York Regional Council:

Happy Tamil New Year to all who celebrate
Wishing you love and blessings in the year ahead
Puthandu Vazthukal!
As you may know, recent earthquakes have struck Türkiye and Syria, leaving many families without homes and basic necessities. In response to this crisis, Markham Mayor and I are organizing a fundraiser event to raise money for earthquake relief efforts in these countries.

All proceeds will go towards providing aid and support to those affected by the earthquakes. We believe that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact in the lives of those who are struggling in the aftermath of this disaster.

Thank you for your support and generosity.

We strongly condemn Islamophobia

We are saddened to learn about a second hate-motivated incident at another Markham mosque, the Imam Mahdi Islamic Centre. Ramadan is a sacred month for all Muslims, a time for prayer, reflection, and community. There is no place for hatred in our city at this time, or any time.

We stand in solidarity with the Markham Muslim community.
