As you may know, recent earthquakes have struck Türkiye and Syria, leaving many families without homes and basic necessities. In response to this crisis, Markham Mayor and I are organizing a fundraiser event to raise money for earthquake relief efforts in these countries.

All proceeds will go towards providing aid and support to those affected by the earthquakes. We believe that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact in the lives of those who are struggling in the aftermath of this disaster.

Thank you for your support and generosity.

Markham’s new Mighty Green Bin is a larger, sturdier green bin for residents to purchase. It holds twice the amount of green bin material than the City’s regular-size green bin.

This size is perfect for households who are regularly using several green bins or clear bags for their overflow organics, like diapers and pet waste – only one trip to the curb!

Mighty Green Bin is tipped into both side-load and rear-load collection trucks with a mechanical arm, not a person, which eliminates existing weight restrictions. There are no changes to set out guidelines.

Currently, there are only 300 of these containers, and we will be monitoring public interest, functionality and feedback.

Starting Friday, May 26, Mighty Green Bin will be available for purchase and pick up at:

Milliken Mills Recycling Depot ONLY (7660 Kennedy Road)

 Cost: $73.50* includes HST.

*Trade-in offer – residents will receive $10.00 off when they trade-in one or more regular-size green bins.

 Buying a Mighty Green Bin is voluntary

Important Note: All sales of the Mighty Green Bin are final. No returns, exchanges or damage/theft replacement.

MPL's Bicycle Lending Library is opening! Starting on May 27, you can borrow bikes for FREE using your MPL library card! Look for us at the Milliken and Centennial C.C. Hubs every Saturday and Wednesday.
